HOW TO MAKE 2009 YOUR BEST YEAR EVER!
Are you ready to do what it takes to make 2009 your best year ever?
You may be surrounded by more problems than you have ever faced, you may find yourself in the worst situation you have ever been in and yet if you are willing to do whatever it takes, you will always remember 2009 as your best year ever.
The first thing that you must do is "take inventory". You must find out what the "joy robbers" have been in your life. You must not look superficially but deep inside and carefully around to discover what has "really" been robbing you of the abundant life that Christ came to give us (John 10:10).
Let me mention just two "Joy robbers" and maybe you will discover that one or maybe both of these have been stealing your joy.
1. A bad attitude. How do you react when things don't go your way? Do you pout or get angry? Do you isolate yourself or get discouraged? If so then you are suffering from an acute case of "bad attitude". If you pout, get angry, isolate yourself and get discouraged even when things are going good then you are chronic and need to be admitted into Gods ICU. Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable?if anything is excellent or praiseworthy?think about such things." These versus show us that the way to change a bad attitude is to change bad thinking. You must bring your thoughts captive;
2 Corinthians 10:4-6 (New International Version)
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
thoughts that are obedient to Christ will bring down the stronghold that our bad attitudes have on our lives. If you have bad attitudes it is because you have thoughts (arguments and pretensions) that set themselves up against the knowledge of God. Change your thoughts by feeding your mind with the right food. By reading Gods word, singing songs of praise and listening to music that builds you up in Christ.
2. Wrong motives; motives are everything. Our motives really reveal who we are deep inside. If we are motivated by selfishness, pride or carnal ambition, we will never experience true joy or satisfaction. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 "If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing." These verses teach me that if my motive is not love "I am nothing and I gain nothing."
The only way for you to begin to live a love motivated life is to receive the love of the Father. Romans 5:5 tells us "God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit" When God pours his love into your heart then love will become your motivation for everything you do.
Are you ready for your best year ever? Get rid of bad attitudes and any other "Joy robbers" that you have allowed into your life and operate with the mind of Christ .
Are you ready for 2009 to be a year of Joy and satisfaction? Ask the Father to pour his love into your heart perhaps for the first time or just ask for a free re-fill. Its up to you to make 2009 your best year ever.
